We had talked about it for months, always half-laughing, never serious. Then a friend came over for a drink, the wine loosened everyone up, and I realised my partner wasn’t joking at all. He wanted to watch. The strange part wasn’t doing it. It was how calm he looked, and how much I liked that he was watching. We haven’t talked about it since, but we both know it changed something.
