I wrote it out, deleted it, wrote it again three times before I could send it anywhere. The thing itself isn’t even that wild. It’s that I’d spent years pretending I didn’t want it, even to myself. Putting it into words, with no name on it, was the first time it felt real and the first time it felt okay.
